The British rock band frenzy that started in the UK rapidly took the world by storm; and here in the US, a renegade pop culture evolved unforgettably. We’ve all known that for decades, yet to this day we remain stricken with the madness of the period, as we crave reliving it, endlessly.
The Tommy Hilfiger Spring Summer 2015 Collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week was quite simply the ultimate fashion tribute to the phenomenal 60’s Beatles/rock-and-roll era. And who better to lead this invasion as show opener, and rock THIS catwalk, than someone of true rock n’ roll royalty dna — Georgia May Jagger.
Parading through the flower-strewn catwalk at first in Union Jack’s crosses and stripes in red-white-and-blues and military and naval regalia coats, the progression marched on with the notable UK look transitioning to the Americana: star-spangled and stripes everything, patchworks of faded denim, dropped-waist-belted A-minis, breezy-chiffon peasant dresses, donned with buckled leather navy caps and psychedelic electric guitars as statements.
